a lot of you have been asking me to post the patterns that I used to make this. unfortunately, as I've never dabbled in sewing before and have no experience, I kinda. threw out the stencils as soon as I was done with them, one by one. I figured I'd never need them again and all they'd do was take up space and add to the vast amounts of junk already floating around my workspace. I'm really sorry; if I'd known I would have kept them and set about making some kind of tutorial.
okay, so this isn't exactly new. neither are the pictures.
I finished him back in the beginning of March. I was rather proud; the last time I sewed something from scratch was when I was nine and we made stuffed gingerbread men in school. I made him of this soft cotton shirt I bought that turned out to be way too big for me, and then his clothes out of plain yard fabric. absolutely everything is hand-stitched, as the damn sewing machine is so old that it malfunctions all the time and I haven't the slightest idea how to use it. I also drew my own stencils for cutting out the fabric shapes because I was having trouble finding decent patterns online that were free.
sorry about the quality of these images. I had to screw around with the exposures of a few of them to make certain details visible. evidence that I am both a poor photographer and an even poorer seamstress. especially when it comes to custom clothing. I really had no idea what I was doing throughout the entire process.
I'm really tempted to send this to my scraps. after a bunch of you speaking out I'm just gonna keep this where it's at in my gallery. soo nevermind that bit.
