For whatever reason, I was possessed to do a new reference for my TFP character Astro. In the process I also revamped her a little tiny bit. I don’t draw her very often at all, alongside many other characters, and I’m not sure if I’ll be doing the same for my other TFP characters, but hey it was fun to do.

And now a re-done profile to go along with the image.

Alignment: Decepticon
Alt Mode: somewhat modified Eurocopter EC135
Function: surveillance / extraterrestrial biologist
Personality: Astro is, in essence, a grumpy housecat. She seems to be easily irritated, especially when she has to communicate with others for longer periods of time; doesn't speak much and keeps her sentences short; and communicates more via subconscious body language rather than actual verbalizations. Such body language includes the positioning of her "ears" and her rotor blades, which may or may not buzz when she's agitated. She also emits a sort of 'I'm better than you' vibe, and seems to shrug off instances of error as inconsequential or having been done on purpose.

Astro often works in surveillance, utilizing bird-like drones she's built that are simply called camerabirds. Because of the amount and how far their signal reaches, a good portion of the drones are dedicated to personal research purposes rather than anything directly relating to the war with the Autobots. Some of the drones are even simply tasked with observing and collecting information on organisms that Astro finds interesting, which in the end can come in handy for inspiration in projects that involve tampering with or building new frames. When she's not busy working surveillance, she messes around with her archives of various organisms from various planetary systems and making rough plans for potential projects based on them.

Astro works rather closely with Shockwave, and seems to regard him quite highly, especially in comparison with the rest of the Decepticon force that she has to interact with. It's not too clear what the nature of their relationship is - Astro does initiate small instances of physical contact such as reaching out and tapping her fingertips to his arm when passing by, or standing very near when at their work station, but there doesn't seem to be much - if any - protest or signs of irritation from him. If there's anything going on, the details are something they keep between them.
