SU - Lari's Delivery Service

I watched Kiki’s Delivery Service earlier, to have something going in the background while I did stuff. And holy shit, Larimar is Kiki. The way she interacts with people, the way she clams up and gets distant when asked about her worries or problems, and even the tiny coincidence that she wanted to be near the sea. Probably the moment I saw the most of Larimar in Kiki was when Kiki purposefully isolated herself from Tombo - despite getting along with him rather well - because his friends that he’d known longer showed up, she watched them interact, and got the impression that she was just some outsider whose novelty would wear off eventually, not really someone that any of them actually wanted to be friends with. Tombo clearly had a bunch of other good friends already, and they clearly don't think much of her.

I also now cannot un-hear Larimar’s voice as sounding like Disney-dub!Kiki. She kinda sounded similar in my head before, but now it’s just flat-out 15-year-old Kirsten Dunst. Dammit.
