Minecraft - ask-dump

And here is a dump of the thirteen things I've answered so far on the askblog. The last one on here was done in.. February. To give you an idea how long it's been on standby.

First one - I actually had no idea what Croix's parents should look like so they got designed really quickly. And they still don't have names.

Second - I was inspired by Dren from the movie Splice, as far as having Lux's child-self having somewhat different anatomy than her adult-self.

Third - at the time I really didn't want to do a background so you get a boring white backdrop. It' also worth noting that I did this back in December before I was making a real effort to avoid boring white backdrops like this.

Fourth - contains an explanation of my headcanon for creepers, as well as a little tiny bit of Lux sulking because of biological parent issues.

Fifth - it's worth noting that Lux is responding the way she is because after looking at the reference for the character that asked the question, she is quite tiny in comparison. Almost less than half his size. And having a stranger of that stature approach her and claim they can smell her blood is enough to unnerve Lux. Hence the reaction. Not because I dislike the character.

Sixth - nothing much here; just some simple wordless character interaction.

Seventh - I was trying out something as far as having Croix “talk”. Or at least communicate answers. The text is really nothing more than his thoughts, and unless he writes them down or is in the presence of a telepath, there’s no way for them to be heard by anyone but himself. I tried making it a greyish tone and with a slight blur behind it to bring that sort of feel across, but I really don’t know if that worked.

Eighth - I finally got to utilize Lux's fear of cats for this one.

Ninth - I did a not-white backdrop in this one so that the names of the bands / composers would pop more.

Tenth - I actually went about answering this at first with randomly choosing certain types of hats for Croix and Lux, before I went and re-read the ask and saw that they specifically said 'top hats.' Originally Lux had a pirate hat and Croix had a fez. And the exact same expressions.

Eleventh - the Vik mentioned is the lovely Shrineheart's character, and the post in question where e explains necklessness in Enderman is right here. And Devic, the fluffy Enderman in the ask, belongs to ZombiDJ.

Twelfth - right about here I felt like full-on inking was taking too much time, so I switched to just coloring and cel-shading sketches.

Thirteen - featuring me the lamphead. With a not-cartoonized facelight for once.
